Oh, the things you make us do. A while back, we posted about budget eats in Prague. We took some of our Prague’s great restaurants that meet our stringent standards of quality, found what cheaper options do they offer and wrote about them on the blog, adding some insider tips. The crowds went absolutely mad. "Too expensive", they said. "Are you crazy?” they asked. “Somebody should do a list of eateries under CZK 100.” Oh well, haters gonna hate.

We thought, “This is preposterous. Nobody is going to do a list of things that cost less than CZK 100 in Prague. What would you write about? Sure, Prague is affordable, but CZK 100?” 

Well, today, we bring you our ten fun things to eat and do in Prague if your budget is CZK 100. Sigh. Obviously, we do take requests. The list includes some food, some activities, and some souvenirs, too, because even if you’re on a tight budget, you should think about your loved ones. Believe it or not, we used to be students, too. And just like any students, even we had tight budgets. Zuzi, for instance, saved some money by hitchhiking to and from Prague for university. Jan spent ten years doing his masters degree simply because he worked throughout his studies to make some money on the side (oh, and also because he was pretty lazy… and drafted, but that’s another story). But that does not mean we did not care about what we ate. We always liked good food, but simply did not have the money for fine dining.

We know that many visitors who want to eat their way through Prague are on a budget. While we do sometimes visit fine dining venues on our own travels, we think you do not have to compromise on quality even if you have a budget that is slightly tighter. And many times going for the budget option actually brings you the local immersion travelers crave whenever they go. Because we want you to eat well in Prague even if you do not have a gold credit card, we bring you some tips for eating Prague on a budget.

Inspired by the rainy weather of the last two days, we thought it could be a good idea to suggest a few places where you could get a bowl of delicious, steaming soup. Let's face it: few things are as comforting on a chilly rainy day as a bowl of hot soup - and we are absolute suckers for great soup! Czechs generally love soups, and virtually every restaurant will offer one or two as part of their lunch specials or on the a la carte menu.
